STARRY NIGHT.
ARCH 193
The Starry Night Library is located on a current parking lot site that feeds into The Galtway — two alleyways featuring large-scale art installations. Surrounding the library, a series of brick partitions of varied heights extend this existing gallery condition further onto the site, permeating the library to create an indoor gallery program within its primary circulation route. Appealing to local interests in visual arts such as the nearby Cambridge Centre for the Arts and the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, the library provides an environment where individuals can explore, study, discuss, and practice a range of creative visual mediums.
