TREETOP

TREKKING.

ARCH 193 │ IN COLLABORATION WITH SOPHIA DE GRAAF

Replacing an existing pedestrian bridge crossing Ancaster Creek, the Treetop Trekking bridge takes in the rich sensory stimulation of the adjacent waterfall, bringing it into the enclosed pathway that emulates the surrounding tree canopy. At its core, a small opening takes in the sound of the rushing stream and provides an opportunity for the water’s reflection to permeate the deck, dancing on the surface of the curved canopy; along the south face, a strategic slice through the translucent enclosure frames an unobstructed view of the waterfall.
